Georgia Annwell worked over thirty years before becoming a full-time artist. She worked first as a nurse, and then as a nursing instructor, next a karateca and karate instructor, next an architectural renderer and designer of buildings. All the while, she studied art and painted on the side. Now she paints almost every day. She paints people, other animals, and creates images to which people can relate fairly easily. Many of her works exhibit a subtle sense of amusement.
She might paint a landscape in colors a client chooses. She might paint someone's favorite pet. She might still do a simple architectural rendering. She might sketch portraits of those around her or paint a professional model in an atelier. She still studies art on the side.
Her art related education includes:
1. Years at the Masters' Institute in New York City;
2. AA degree in art and architecture from the College of Marin, Kentfield, CA;
3. Bachelor of Architecture degree from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA.
4. Ongoing classes and workshops in watercolor and figure painting
Art group membership includes:
1. Art League of Northern California
2. Marin Watercolor Society
3. Marin Society of Artists.
4. Marin Art Council
